Arsenal sign Matteo Guendouzi from Lorient for £8m... as young midfielder

Guendouzi poses with an Arsenal shirt after sealing his big move to the Emirates                                             Arsenal have completed the £8million signing of midfielder Matteo Guendouzi from Lorient.
The 19-year-old, who has joined the Gunners just a day after Uruguay international Lucas Torreira signed for £25m, got straight down to business on Wednesday by training with his new team-mates.
Before training, Guendouzi posed for a series of photos as Arsenal supporters caught first glimpse of their new signing, who bears a striking resemblance to Chelsea's David Luiz.Guendouzi, Arsenal's fifth signing of the summer transfer window, has been handed the No 29 shirt.

Ronaldo's Real Madrid had competed with Lionel Messi's Barca since his arrival

Despite playing for rival teams the duo are said to have mellowed their rivalry over the years                                                                  For nine years it was the greatest show on earth – the two best players of their generation in a season-long slog of 'anything you can do I can do better'.
We will miss their battle to be the best, and Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo will miss each other in the way all great sporting rivals end up longing for the once sworn enemy.Messi invariably had the upper hand in the early days but just when it seemed Ronaldo was a beaten man he won three straight Champions Leagues and he leaves having pulled level in the Ballon d'Or stakes too.
Messi was already established in La Liga when Ronaldo was unveiled in front of 80,000 supporters at the Santiago Bernabeu. The main stage presentation on the pitch complete with catwalk seemed completely over the top back in 2009 and at first Ronaldo failed to live up to the hype.

Unai Emery put his players through their paces at London Colney on Friday

Manager Unai Emery issues instructions to his Arsenal players on Friday morning                                  Unai Emery continued to step up the intensity of pre-season training for his Arsenalstars with an exhausting session on the hottest day of the year so far.
The likes of Hector Bellerin, Shkodran Mustafi and Calum Chambers were hardly able to stand come the end of the session with temperatures hitting 30 degrees.
Despite the heat, Emery ensured he got every last ounce of energy out of his players with another gruelling workout at the club's London Colney base. The Gunners took to Facebook to share a video of their players completing a sprinting exercise, writing: 'We knew pre-season was tough... and the boys are being worked HARD'.
Full-back Bellerin can be seen collapsing to the floor the moment he crosses the line as Mustafi and Carl Jenkinson quickly follow suit.
