Unbelievable! 5 Goalkeepers Called Peter

Funny though that some names are attached to certain professions and one particular example is that of goalkeeping which 5 goalkeepers share the same name, Peter
Petr Cech
The showstopping goalkeeper that plies  his trade with Arsenal Football Club while his allegiance is to his native country of Czech Republic. Cech has had a long and successful career manning the goal posts for clubs like Chmel Blsany, Sparta Prague, Rennes, Chelsea and presently displays his goalkeeping skills for the Gunners. For him the sky is not the limit rather it is his starting point
Petr Kouba
Another fantastic goalkeeper from the Czech Republic though not as popular as his name sake but cannot be forgotten in a hurry especially with his heroics at Euro 96 as he assisted his team edge out France in the semi-final via penalty kicks only to lose to eventual champions Germany courtesy of two Oliver Bierhoff goals, one which was a sudden death goal. He is currently the assistant coach for the Czech U-20 and U-21 teams which goes to prove that there are no good gloves like old gloves
Peter Schmeichel
The legendary goalkeeper of Manchester United and Denmark who was a nightmare to strikers who did not know how to get a shot past his towering frame. Schmeichel was voted IFFHS World’s Best Goalkeeper  in 1992. He has had an illustrious at club level and for his nation as his legacy has served as a springboard for a new generation of young Danes to launch their careers.
Peter Shilton
This English player holds the record for playing more games for England’s men team more than anyone else earning 125 caps also under his belt is the all-time record for the most competitive appearances in world football. This goalkeeping Peter has the distinction of playing over 100 league games for five different clubs, he was voted by IFFHS as one of the best ten goalkeepers of the 20th century. He and Fabien Barthez share one record in common, 10 clean sheets
Peter Rufai
His name ‘Peter’, his code name ‘Dodo Mayana’ one time safest hands in Nigeria who flew the flag of Nigeria at numerous African Cup of Nations clinching the title in Tunisia in 1994, as well as manning the goal posts both at USA 94 and France 98. Peter still contributes his wealth of experience to the younger generation of Nigerian footballers who want to follow in his footsteps
