The Bayern Munich midfielder trained alongside team-mates including Alexis Sanchez in St. Petersburg on Saturday, while a Germany squad featuring the likes of Julian Draxler were also put through their paces ahead of Sunday's clash at St Petersburg Stadium.
Arsenal defender Shkodran Mustafi and Liverpool's Emre Can were among the other members of Joachim Low's squad looking to follow up their 2014 World Cup win with victory in Russia.Joachim Low's Germany picked up victories over Australia and Cameroon to book their place in the last-four as group winners. Juan Antonio Pizzi's Chile, meanwhile, picked up five points from their three group games to progress to the knockout stages.
Manchester City goalkeeper Claudio Bravo was their hero in the semi-final clash with Portugal, saving three spot-kicks as they won 3-0 on penalties.Neither side has yet tasted defeat in this year's competition and the they could not be separated when they met earlier in the tournament. Lars Stindl cancelled out Sanchez's early strike as the Group B clash finished 1-1.
