Nemanja Matic is interested in linking up with his former boss Jose Mourinho at Manchester United this summer. The 28-year-old midfielder, who was signed by Mourinho as Chelsea won the Premier League title last season.

                                                                                    Chelsea are hoping to tie Matic down to a new contract despite making a move for Monaco's Tiemoue Bakayoko, who plays a similar role.

Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata remains Mourinho's priority as he prepares for life without Zlatan Ibrahimovic. Wayne Rooney could also leave United this summer. United hold an interest in Matic, although any deal hinges on Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich being willing to sell to Mourinho and their title rivals. The 28-year-old midfielder, who was signed by Mourinho in January 2014, played an instrumental role as Chelsea won the Premier League title last season.

But despite becoming a mainstay of Antonio Conte's side, Matic feels the time is right for a change of club after failing to secure a move away last summer.
