                                                                                           BARCA want to bring back their loaned players this summer to help them with their looming financial crisis but Philippe Coutinho is among them, and if he plays another season for the Catalan side, Liverpool will be €20million  (£17.5m) richer.

The deal that took the Brazilian forward to Spain from Anfield was for an initial fee of €120m (£105m) but among the add-ons was a payment of a further €20m (£17.5m) once Coutinho had played 100 games for his new club. He is currently on 76 and if he returns and plays Barca will owe Liverpool more money.

Barcelona coach Quique Setien is in favour of recalling Coutinho who he believes can get back to his best. Barcelona will decide whether or not to keep him based on offers on the table for the 27-year-old, Other loanees set to return at the end of the season include right-back Moussa Wague who returns from Nice after the closure of the French league.

Jean Clair Todibo will return from Schalke once the German season is over but Barcelona believe they can sell the 20-year-old with Southampton and Watford among the clubs linked with the defender.

Defensive midfielder Oriol Busquets returns from Twente and left back Miranda is due back from Schalke.

The club also expect Carles Alena to come back from Real Betis although he is another, like Todibo, they believe they can raise a fee for.Rafinha, who is currently on loan at Celta Vigo, will be sold if a buyer can pay his €16m (£14m) clause.

Barcelona hope the returning loanees help them deal with the financial problems caused by the coronavirus.

They have a €671m (£585m) wage bill and while that looked manageable at the start of the season when they announced projected revenue at a record €1billion it now looks impossible as next season’s revenue is likely to be closer to €800m.

Coutinho is the outstanding name in the full team of returning loans named on the front of Mundo Deportivo on Tuesday morning but he presents a problem as well as a solution – if he plays a part in the next campaign it looks likely the club will need to pay Liverpool more money for someone who is already the most expensive player in their history.
