Arsenal's Matteo Guendouzi was booked for sarcastically placing the ball down Mike Dean cautioned the Frenchman during the FA Cup tie against Portsmouth

Guendouzi sarcastically slams the ball on the turf in full view of Dean during the first half                                                               Arsenal fans were left incensed on Monday after Matteo Guendouzi was booked for theatrically placing the ball down for a free kick by referee Mike Dean.
The French midfielder was cautioned by Dean during the first half of the Gunners' FA Cup tie with Portsmouth, leaving supporters bemused as to why he was booked.
Moments before the caution, Guendouzi managed to win his side a free kick just before the interval but when he tried to take it quickly, he was told the ball wasn't taken in the correct place. When he tried taking it again, Dean pointed out that the ball was again not in the correct position leading to a frustrated Guendouzi picking up the ball high above his head before placing it on the ground with his arms outstretched.

Ronaldo clapped after Vinicius Jr fired Madrid in front at the Bernabeu on 71 minutes                                                                            Ronaldo returned to the Bernabeu to watch El Clasico and entered the stadium in a low key black van to avoid being detected by fans.
Supporters and TV cameras soon spotted him sat in the stands and he showed he still holds the club close to his heart after his jubilant celebrations. Vinicius put Madrid in front on 71 minutes and then copied Ronaldo's famous celebration as the Portuguese clapped in appreciation from his seat.

Marcos Alonso scored a brace as Chelsea drew 2-2 away to relegation-threatened Bournemouth Alonso put Chelsea ahead in the 33rd minute but Bournemouth equalised through Jefferson Lerma

Marcos Alonso scored twice as Chelsea had to fight back to secure a point when they took on Bournemouth away                                                      Marcos Alonso dressed the windows with his late equaliser, the result was a continuation of a long-standing difficulty.
Chelsea quite simply cannot find a workable stride pattern. Every time the jog looks like becoming a sprint in this weird season, they face plant, and for that reason it is almost four months since they last recorded back-to-back wins in the Premier League.  It was his third goal in two games and went with a red card against Bayern Munich - a one-man mirror of his club's fluctuations.

The point is important for Bournemouth - in the past five games they have shown signs of revival, even if they do only have two wins in 11 since they last beat Chelsea in December. For Lampard, Chelsea have two wins in eight in all competitions and badly need to step up the pace again. They were in horrible difficulty after giving up the lead from Alonso's first-half strike, and at 2-1 down a familiar tale was playing out - for whatever reason, Eddie Howe is the stone that Chelsea cannot quite remove from their shoe. Three Bournemouth wins in the past four runs of this fixture was on the cusp of becoming four in five, before Alonso struck again with five minutes remaining. It was his third goal in two games and went with a red card against Bayern Munich - a one-man mirror of his club's fluctuations. The second, finished by King after a Jack Stacey's ball across the box, survived a VAR referral, but three points ultimately became one when Alonso headed in a rebound after 15 minutes of solid Chelsea pressure.

Nigel Pearson says Watford still have much work to do to avoid relegation Pearson's side secured a shock 3-0 win to end Liverpool's unbeaten league run

Ismalia Sarr scored a brace against Liverpool but Watford's top-flight status is far from secure                                                   Watford made it 2-0 six minutes later when Deeney produced a wonderful through ball for Sarr to race away on goal and he showed great composure to chip the onrushing Alisson.
Trent Alexander-Arnold's poor back pass allowed Sarr to get in again with 72 on the clock and he laid back for Deeney to curl home and send Vicarage Road into pandemonium.
Watford are back in action next Saturday when they face Crystal Palace away. After creating the better chances in the first half, the Hornets made their dominance count when Sarr opened the scoring in the 54th minute from Abdoulaye Doucoure's cross.  Pearson said: 'I wish I could enjoy the good times a bit more,' the 56-year-old admitted. 'I am already looking at the next game in my own mind.

Odion Ighalo revealed his maiden strike for Manchester United was tinged with sadness                                           Odion Ighalo savoured his first goal for Manchester United but admitted it was tinged with sadness because his late sister Mary was not alive to see him score it.

Ighalo, 30, celebrated by pulling up his jersey to reveal a T-shirt with a tribute to his sister who passed away in December. The boyhood United fan said: 'She is a Man United fan. We prayed for this moment to play for United, and unfortunately she is not here to see me doing that.
'I promised I would dedicate every goal I scored (to her). I'm happy that I did that and wherever she is, she is happy that I'm doing that and she is doing great.

Fury dominated from start to finish in the greatest victory of an English boxer abroad in boxing history The 30-year-old broke into a rendition of American Pie to a jubilant Las Vegas audience in the MGM Grand

The 30-year-old has his arm raised to the Las Vegas sky by referee Kenny Bayless after a truly remarkable performanceFury has now completed a full set of the world heavyweight belts by adding Wilder's WBC title and the Ring Magazine accolade to the WBA, WBO, IBF and IBO prizes he held previously after defeating Wladimir Klitschko. Fury had held since the fight was announced. But Fury relished the role of the underdog.
Both men arrived early with the arena barely a third full for the preliminary bouts. So as the big screens picked them up walking to their dressing rooms there were muted cheers from the early birds for Fury, in one of his suits of many colours, and just isolated cries of 'Bomber' for Wilder in dark kit.
Wilder's party seemed to get lost en route from his penthouse suite in the MGM and they took him and his fiancée on a ten to 15 minute march from the bottom of the elevator, through the thronged hotel lobby and around the inner corridors of the Grand Garden to reach his billet.

Barcelona players donned Ousmane Dembele shirts ahead of the Getafe match Stars including Lionel Messi wore the number 11 shirts back to front at Nou Camp

Stars including Lionel Messi and Antoine Griezmann wore the number 11 shirts on to the pitch                                           The 22-year-old had been out of action since November with a thigh injury and suffered another major setback in training last week.
He flew to Finland for surgery but has been rule out for six months with a hamstring tear.
in a show of support for the youngster, Barcelona FC tweeted: '#CourageDembélé. Keep your head up, Ousmane!'
La Liga English added: 'Not just a club, a family.' As well as Dembele, Luis Suarez is also facing an extended period on the sidelines, leaving Barcelona depleted of options in attack.
Boss Quique Setien yesterday commented on the ongoing speculation surrounding his side's attempts to bring in a new striker as cover for the injury-hit forward line.

Chelsea have drawn Ajax, Valencia and Lille in their Champions League group, Frank Lampard's side have only won one of their four matches so far this season

Frank Lampard was handed a relatively easy Champions League group for his Chelsea side                                                       The Blues were not able to sign one anyone new in the summer as they are currently under a transfer ban.
Lampard's side have only won one of their four matches so far this season. It was hard not feel sorry for Ajax when Tottenham's incredible comeback denied them a place in last season's final. Erik ten Hag's talented crop of youngsters beat Real Madrid and Juventus en-route to the semi-finals and Ajax have since lost two of the key men from that famous run.

Sadio Mane's 100th goal in English football extends Reds' lead at the top of the Premier League to 25 points

Mane latched onto Jordan Henderson's brilliant long range pass on 78 minutes before firing past Tim Krul to seal the win                                                           The Premier League’s top team beat the bottom team with a brilliant goal from second half substitute Sadio Mane, returning after injury. ‘We shall not be moved,’ the Liverpool fans sang delightedly, over and over again after their 1-0 win. They have earned the right to celebrate over these last 30 years of hurt. Storm Dennis frustrated them for a while and threatened to knock them out of their stride with the challenges it presented to their passing. And Norwich did their bit with some fine football of their own. But there is an inevitability about Liverpool winning these days. It is, after all, October 20 since they last dropped a point.

The self-styled Gypsy King has insisted he will not leave it to the cards this time - having been denied one of sporting's greatest comebacks when the judges returned a controversial split-decision draw back in December 2018 - despite the general consensus believing his best chance is to outbox the WBC champion. Fury has said he intends to give knockout artist Wilder a taste of his own medicine when they meet again next month, but the American believes he is just trying to hoodwink him.
