The Liverpool captain has been a driving force in the Players Together campaign Henderson has set the same exemplary example off the pitch that he sets on it

Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson deserved an OBE or MBE, according to Stan Collymore                                                        Jordan Henderson for his efforts during the coronavirus crisis.
The midfielder has been a driving force behind the 'Players Together' campaign, where footballers are coming together to financially support the NHS.

Players came in for criticism after resisting proposed pay cuts, with health secretary Matt Hancock taking a pointed jab at top-flight players.  However, it has transpired that Henderson and Co were willing to contribute, but has been intent on doing so on their own terms - rather than seeing their money funnelled back to executives and chairmen.
'When the New Year gongs are announced we should be hearing Jordan Henderson OBE or MBE - simple as that,' former Reds star Collymore told the Mirror
'The conscience he has shown football these past couple of weeks is more important than any trophy he will ever lift for Liverpool. He has been a real conduit to positive change.Henderson and Co have shown him what footballers, as a collective, are really all about.
'The fact we’re now seeing them act will hopefully show a lot of people that they put a lot more back into their communities than they let on.
'Henderson certainly doesn’t have the bells and whistles of a Kenny Dalglish and he might not have a stand named after him in years to come.
'But heroes come in all forms and Liverpool fans remember theirs. Henderson will go down as the quiet man who got things done - both on the pitch and off it.' Stars from Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang to Mason Mount have contributed to the fund.
It's been a mammoth 12-months for Henderson, lifting the Champions League and Club World Cup as Liverpool captain and leading Jurgen Klopp's side through a dominant Premier League season.
The threat of a season cancellation would have been a devastating blow, but with the season looking increasingly likely to be completed behind closed doors, the Englishman will surely get to lift the Anfield side's first title of the Premier League era.
