                                                                                         Manchester United defender Matteo Darmian marries fiancee Francesca Cormanni in traditional ceremony.                    Manchester United defender Matteo Darmian has married his long-term fiancee Francesca Cormanni in a lavish wedding ceremony in Italy. 

The pair, who have been together since they were teenagers, tied the knot in front of family and friends at a church in Rescaldina, just minutes away from Darmian's home town of Legnano.

Red Devils midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin, was among a number of high-profile guests at the ceremony near Milan on Wednesday.Darmian's former team-mate at Torino, Alessio Cerci, also attended with his wife his wife Federica Riccardi.

The ceremony caps a memorable week for Darmian, who was part of the Italy team that beat Uruguay in a friendly on June 7 before thrashing Liechtenstein 5-0 in a World Cup qualifier in Udine on Sunday.

While all appears to be going well for the 27-year-old on the international stage, Darmian's club future remains in doubt after a frustrating campaign with United.The Italian full-back made just 15 starts under Jose Mourinho last season and has been linked with a return to his boyhood club, AC Milan. 

Darmian still has two years left on his contract at Old Trafford and gave little away when asked to comment on his future, following the win over Uruguay.

'Surely this is not the moment to talk about the transfer market,' Darmian said. 'I wouldn't know what to answer.

'I have a contract with Manchester United, so let's see what happens.
