Manchester United complete signing of Benfica's Victor Lindelof for £30.7m as defender reveals he is 'thrilled' to be moving to Old Trafford Manchester United have completed the signing of Victor Lindelof from Benfica after the defender passed a medical.
Lindelof, who has cost United £30.7million, arrived at the club's Carrington training base on Wednesday morning before signing a four-year contract.
The 22-year-old has long been a target of manager Jose Mourinho, who decided against a move for the player in January.
The Sweden international has revealed his joy at moving to Old Trafford, wher he will stay until the summer of 2021.
It is also understood that Benfica could be due a further £8.8m in add-ons.
In an interview on the club's official website, he said: 'I am thrilled to be joining Manchester United.
'I have enjoyed my time at Benfica enormously and I have learned a lot there.
'But I'm looking forward to playing in the Premier League at Old Trafford and for Jose Mourinho.
'I'm keen to get started and make my contribution to the team's efforts to win more trophies.'
He will get his chance to play with his new team-mates in the summer when United go on their tour of the US.
